Travelling south from Sydney, the south coast invites you
to explore its scenic coastline. From Shoalhaven Heads in
the north to the Sapphire Coast in the south, long beaches,
inlets and bays abound.
Seal sighting
Montague Island, just off the south coast town of Narooma,
is a hang-out for juvenile seals. From August to the end
of December you can even scuba dive or snorkel with them.
At the same time you can spot humpback and southern right
whales here as they migrate along the coast with their babies
in tow.
Blessed Eden
Located on the deep harbour of Twofold Bay, Eden is rich
in fishing and whaling history. Still a fishing town, 'whale
watching' is now a key event. Eden is ideal for a quiet
seaside or mountain escape.
Friendly beach towns
While Batemans Bay is the largest on the coast south of
Nowra, it maintains the charm of a small town. It is an
unspoilt natural environment with waters suitable for families
to either swim or surf.
Dolphins at Jervis
The shores of Jervis Bay offer a wealth of attractions.
Dolphins play in the surf close to the coast and at Bouderee
National Park there’s a resident pod of bottlenose
dolphins, or try a cruise from Huskisson.
