More than 70 uncrowded beaches line the coast of Sydney
and beyond its northern limits. Visit famous ocean beaches
like Bondi to Manly, or relax on some of the Central Coast's
stretches of golden sand.
Popular Manly
A quick trip by ferry or Jetcat from Circular Quay is Manly,
a long curve of golden sand edged with Norfolk Pines. If
you look out to sea to your right you’ll spot tiny
Shelly Beach, good for snorkelling.
Delightful Central Coast
The Central Coast, a step north of Sydney, offers a spectacular
golden ribbon of coastline and a wealth of beaches and vast
waterways. From Broken Bay in the south to Catherine Hill
Bay in the north, the coast delights. Spots such as The
Entrance, with its beautiful inlets and beaches, are lasting
favourites. The area suits visitors looking for a coastal
escape with excellent accommodation, dining and plenty of
options to keep them busy. Try out leisure cruises, diving,
surfing or kayaking.
Harbour beaches
Dotted around the shores of Sydney Harbour are hidden-away
coves, sleepy bays and swathes of golden sand. Within the
harbour are beautiful Balmoral and Chinamans, Nielsen Park
and Parsley Bay beaches.
Bustling Bondi
Bondi, a bustling beach mecca, is only minutes from the
city centre. Its fine sweep of sand is known for its skimpily-clad
lifesavers and bathers and a restaurant and cafe strip where
you come to see and be seen.
