Victoria’s Murray and Grampians regions are home
to spectacular national parks, wilderness and wildlife.
The Murray’s red river gums and lakes contrast with
the stunning rock formations of the Grampians.
Hattah-Kulkyne parks
The Hattah-Kulkyne and Murrary-Kulkyne parks, about 450
kilometres from Melbourne, are worth the drive. A lakes
system links the mallee scrub parks, ideal for canoeing,
swimming, cycling and walking.
Wyperfeld mallee
One of the most scenic of Victoria’s mallee parks
is Wyperfeld: 3900 hectares of eucalypts, rolling sand plains
and heath land 450 kilometres from Melbourne. Bird life
abounds, along with emus and kangaroos.
Gorgeous Grampians
Visitors are struck by the beauty revealed within the boundaries
of the Grampians National Park. Sheer rock formations, dazzling
waterfalls and panoramic views and, in spring, wildflowers
burst into colour.
Murray River parks
Murray River country is pleasing to the eye: beautiful stretches
of towering red river gums and sandy beaches. Its national
parks are made for exploring – take a guided tour
or walk the bush tracks.
