High Country terrain
Running from the Mansfield district to the upper reaches
of the Murray River near Corryong are the Victorian alps,
or High Country. In winter, there is skiing terrain and
when warmer – walking and touring.
Mount Buffalo
An all-seasons park, Mount Buffalo has sheer cliffs and
waterfalls, imposing granite tors, snow gums and stunning
wildflowers. The 31,000 hectare park contains sub-alpine
vegetation and fauna.
Alpine National Park
Victoria’s largest national park consists of escarpments,
forests and plains. It supports unusual plants, animals
and birds. Here you’ll find some of Australia’s
finest walking trails and ski resorts.
Bogong National Park
